Our Approach

We know that a University is a challenging place for everyone involved.

The Chaplaincy Team is committed to providing a safe place where listening, talking, exploring options, can take place. We are always ready to share the journey with you.

  • We recognise University as being a place packed with challenges, new experiences, worries, friends, heartbreaks, hopes, best time – worst time.
  • We aim to treat every student or staff member we encounter as an individual, with his or her own story and needs.
  • For those who search with religious questions, and for those who haven’t yet begun to search, we are here to care.

Chaplains will be at work around the University. They have wide experience in helping in a range of life-crises. Some specific examples are bereavement, other events involving loss, HIV/AIDS, relationships. They are also used to working with other disciplines, and are aware of the importance of appropriate referral.

Chaplains are also happy to meet with individuals to discuss the traditional services of the Church, such as weddings and baptisms.
